Human Rights
The ICL Global Group believes that telecommunications enables exchange of ideas and access to information. We also recognize that we do face human rights challenges in markets where we operate. Respect and continuous improvement are therefore important parts of our approach to human rights.
Key Facte
Respect : At ICL Global Group respect for human rights is integral to our business, clearly stated in our policies, and approached with a focus on continuous improvement.
Mitigate : At ICL Global we use due diligence as a way to identify human rights challenges and ways to address them. This requires a long-term perspective, continuous improvement and stakeholder dialogue.
Support :
The mobile phone has great potential for contributing positively to people’s lives. ICL Global believes that the mobile phone can help stimulate economic and societal development, bringing banking services to the unbanked, health-care services to even the most remote, and contribute to universal education. We call this approach ‘Enable’. In our Enable projects we also seek to include a rights respecting angle, e.g. through focusing on children’s rights, women’s rights or the right to health as part of our initiatives.
Supply Chain :
Supply Chain Sustainability (SCS) is a key focus area for ICL Global. We require responsible business conduct from all our suppliers in accordance with our Supplier Conduct Principles (SCPs); this includes human rights requirements. Our requirements are complemented by systematic monitoring and risk management. We believe that decent working conditions, respect for human rights and the environment as well as willingness to improve standards amongst our suppliers is the only viable route forward. By working together with our suppliers, we can raise the bar and build competitive edge.
